Clean Body… Clean Conscience

Clean Body… Clean Conscience

To kick start my week of sharing with you guys my favourite plastic free brands I am starting with an amazing all rounder, Friendly Soap!

As the name suggests these guys are environmentally friendly, cruelty free and vegan friendly also (The Vegan Society and Cruelty Free International accredited)! They are made by people on living wage, are plastic free, paraben, SLS phthalates and triclosan free too! They have even steered away from palm oil which is found in many many beauty products, but sadly is bad for the rainforest and it’s many life forms due to massive deforestation.

All the soaps are hand made, cold-pressed and 100% biodegradable.

The main reason for sharing in #plasticfreeJuly though is because the brand are 100% plastic free and all the packaging is recycled or recyclable. In the products themselves there are none of those nasty baby plastic pieces we have all heard about lately, with no micro-beads (they use a natural alternative instead such as poppy seeds and hemp bran for exfoliation!)

The reason I call these an all rounder is the wide range of products available. The products themselves are amazing with a wide range of soaps, cleansers, moisturisers and shampoo bars, packaging free.  Who doesn’t love a naked soap! A truly zero waste option can be hard to find and this brand certainly tick that criteria by doing all they can to reduce waste. The bars are multi purpose too so a little goes a long way and they are ideal for travelling!

Why not try these out for a clean conscience and body!

One of my favourites I have tried lately is the Lavender Soap. I was never really a fan of the floral scents but lately i have been really enjoying the lavender scent, it is incredibly calming and as I am sure you are aware is a great natural sleep aid. It claims to disinfect, exfoliate and relax the skin. It has a small host of natural ingredients, coconut oil, Shea butter, olive oil, lavender essential oil, lavender flowers and water…

Another one I have been enjoying is the Lavender and Geranium Shampoo bar. As with the soap above I have been using this as my night time shower routine. With this shampoo bar, a soap and a moisturising bar…I’m good to go. No plastic shower routine..CHECK! I have been using this over the past few weeks and have to say by hair is silky, soft and feels moisturised..smells amazing too! I have fairly sensitive skin and suffer from dandruff often! I have found the natural oils in this bar to really help soothe my skin and leave it flake free, and less itchy. Win win! I know it can seem odd at first ditching the old plastic bottles, they are a staple comfort shower item we all grew up with, however in hindsight entirely unnecessary. So ditch the bottle in favor of a bar. You simply wipe it over damp hair until you have your desired amount, lather, and rinse..wala! Beautiful clean hair.

This week i am trying out the black charcoal detox bar… it makes me look scary as…. but.. so far I am loving it too!

Be sure to check out Friendly Soap for some amazing cruelty free, vegan and importantly plastic free/zero waste ideas and products!

Much Love

Emma
