Raw Fig Slices

One of my favourite treats growing up was fig rolls.. of how I wish they were vegan.. although that wouldn’t help my somewhat healthier lifestyle Im trying to live now! So I figured my love of fig rolls could be made into something just as delicious… a  lovely Fig Cake or Slices!

What You Need;

For the Batter;

2 cups Nuts (ground or whole is fine)

1/4 cup almond butter

1/4 cup almond milk (or any other dairy free milk)

1/4 cup maple syrup (I used agave)

1 tsp vanilla

1 tsp cinnamon

For the Fig Filling;

1 1/2 cups  dried figs

2 tsp of Vanilla

Topping; 

Extra Figs, Nuts or Raw Cacao Nibs (I used Pacari)


What you do

Step 1;  Grind the nuts if whole to create a nut flour.

Step 2; Mix all of your batter ingredients in your food processor with the nuts until it forms a nice batter consistency.

Step 3; Pour this into cake pans or tins of choice (I used three small ones!|)

Step 4; Clean out your processor if you wish (I didn’t.. because I’m lazy 😉 and then add your vanilla and figs and blend until it forms a ball.

Step 5; Take this mixture in small spoonfuls and pat it on top of your batter. It is a little tougher than the batter so we do this in small spoons so you dont have too thick a layer.

Step 6; repeat step five until the tops are covered.

Step 7; Decorate how you wish. With fresh fig? More almond butter, nuts or like I did using Chocolate 😉 I used the raw cacao nibs from Pacari !
