We are all aware of what is and is not Vegan now a days, Meat, Gluten, Dairy. However what about your skin care?? This isn’t always as clear and often is not clearly labelled on packaging. Unless your really good with ingredients lists, you, like me, are buggered!
One of my favourite brands for skincare is Liz Earle and I have done many reviews regarding their amazing skin care range. As they are a well advertised natural skin brand I always assumed like others they are cruelty free and vegan. After lots of research and contacting Liz Earle directly I have the answers 🙂
Liz Earle is a 100% Cruelty Free brand. However not all their items are Vegan. They have informed me that some of their products contain beeswax, manuka honey and Propolis (these are the only animal derived ingredients in the naturally active range).
Rather than list the items that are Vegan, it is much easier to tell you those that aren’t.
Cleanse and Polish
Men’s Cleanse and Polish
Gentle Face Exfoliator
Candles (whole range)
Deep cleansing mask
Lash Care Intensifying mascara base
All other items are available to buy for strict vegans (some items such as the signature foundation do contain synthetic beeswax). So rest assured most of the range is vegan..
I must admit I will surely miss my cleanse and polish though.
I hope this helps!!
